Shakespeare at the bookshop!

Yous are cordially invited to the wedding of Gertrude and Claudius, the Queen and King of Denmark. They’ve brought flowers, foods and a very touching memorial for Gertrude’s late husband, all you need to do is wear your Sunday best to come celebrate this most joyous of occasions. There are a few people who are less than happy at this union. Gertrude’s son Hamlet is one, his recently orphaned girlfriend, Ophelia is another. But when did children ever know what was best for their parents?Everything is going to go to plan, and everyone is going to be happy. Not Hamlet is an exploration of grief, denial and shame in public and in private, very loosely inspired by Hamlet. We encourage the audience to participate in and dress up for the show. Staged by UNIL’s Atelier Shakespeare, the performances will take place on 20th and 21st March (doors open at 18.30, performance starts at 19.00), and 22nd March (doors open at 16.30, performance starts at 17.00).
